Every monster slain gives you a chance to spawn a special monster.
Special monsters give players more experience and better loot, but they are also stronger monsters with more health and higher damage.
This energy gate indicates that a special monster is about to spawn:
Special Spawns are categorized into three different emblems:
Veteran: stronger than the regular version of the killed monster; it has a 10% chance of spawning a monster orb.
Elite: stronger than the veteran version of the killed monster; it has a 100% chance of spawning a monster orb.
Exalted: stronger than the elite version of the killed monster; it has a 100% chance of spawning a monster orb.
Exalted Creatures
Sometimes you will have the chance to spawn an exalted creature .
These monsters, besides granting a higher amount of experience, also drop a guaranteed amount of exalted dust and slivers. 
They can also be tracked down using an exalted compass, which you can obtain from the Exaltation Seller NPC. 
By using it, you can track down the location of a random exalted creature currently alive in the game world.
It has unlimited charges and is a great way to farm dust and slivers.
